For your fix of Ravens news on the weekend, keep your dials tuned to 1090 WBAL radio Saturday from 11-12 p.m. for the new show, “Ravens Saturday Huddle.”

The show will follow the same format as “Purple Passion,” which aired throughout the season, and it is hoping to offer 100 percent Ravens coverage even in the offseason.  Saturday Huddle will also be shown on WBAL Plus television.

“We’re going to cover everything that has to do with the Ravens at this time of year, the draft, the lockout, community events,” said host and longtime Baltimore sportscaster Keith Mills.  “It’s something we’ve been doing for the past few years, and we’ve had players and coaches on.

“I’m looking forward to hopefully talking to Eric [DeCosta, Ravens Director of Player Personnel] and Joe [Hortiz, Ravens Director of College Scouting] soon, too.”

Previously, Purple Passion ran Friday nights at 7:00 and featured a host of Ravens personnel, players and alumni.

A conflict with Baltimore Orioles games airing on Friday nights prompted the time change.

Mills will be in studio with WBAL’s Pete Gilbert and chat with coaches, players and front-office personnel.

Mills acknowledged that the uncertain labor situation currently plaguing the NFL would be a challenge to overcome, but he is confident the football-crazy city of Baltimore will soak up the extra Ravens coverage.

“There’s always something going on Ravens-related,” said Mills.  “And I just hope the powers that be can come to an agreement and we can just talk football.”

For the first event to cover, Mills is looking forward to safety Haruki Nakamura’s charity event benefiting the Red Cross and Japan’s tsunami recovery efforts Saturday at Cal Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, Md.
